Thr bidding proceeds as follows
S : 1♦; W: 1 ♠; N : 2♦ E: pass
S: 2NT; W pass,; N: 3NT; which becomes the contract
A bit ambitious, and W leads K♠, how do you get 9 tricks?
From the bidding it is likely that finessing ♣s or ♥s will lose and therefor the contract will go down. Duck the K♠ and win the ♠ continuation. Now play 2 rounds of ♦s, noting the suit splits 2-2. You are now ready for a throw-in play. Lead 10 ♠ and W must win. W takes 3tricks in ♠s, and is now end played, and has to lead away from either K♣ or K♥ giving you the 9th trick.. You can play off your three winning ♦s but W might discard 8♥ and 7, 3♣ putting you on a guess? Not really
